All activities are in partnership with Mayor Robert Dolan, the Melrose Parks Commission, the Melrose Recreation Department, the Melrose Parks Department, and Golf Management Company, LLC.
so my morning went like this…. nowhere to park or let the girls out for school at the vinton entrance of the roosevelt school because of snow mounds; park up a hill directly across from the school entrance where we always park, in the middle of the road though, and my 7 year old daughter (luckily my 5 year old didn’t go down) and i went flying down the hill as its a complete sheet of ice… bad choice in returning to school today without better plowing and salting. Phone call to Mayor’s office, phone call to Melrose police, phone call to DPW office is how I just drove home!!!!!!! I hope that others are careful or someone can get very hurt. HORRIBLE
Thanks for letting us know, Kristy. DPW responded after your call and has sanded and salted the roads.
as a follow up… OK i am still going to keep complaining, another call today to DPW and your office to explain that the cross walk on the corner of Glen and Vinton is not accessible and kids are crossing in the middle of the road with busy pick up and drop off traffic going both ways… I was told by DPW that he will send his boss out to look at it but its not techinically the town’s responsibility to clear the sidewalk which I understand but because its dangerous to the children in a school zone, I would think that an exception would take precedent and protect our children from the possibility of being struck. Just saying!
