Come to the Sally Frank’s Farmers’ Market

Vegetables

The Melrose/Sally Frank’s Farmers’ Market is going on today, July 2, from 1-7 p.m. in Cedar Park. Get all your 4th of July needs at the market this week: Along with your meaty barbecue requirements and fresh vegetable greens, cucumbers, squash etc., there will be mozzarella, greek yogurt, pasta—including gluten free—breads, popovers, and all sorts of Egyptian and Lebanese spreads.

The farmers market accepts SNAP and will match up to $5 in Market Money.

Today’s music, from 4-6 p.m., will be by Amy Spillert, singer-songwriter-guitarist from Beverly. Amy’s music is folky and upbeat, inspired by the ocean, nature, history, love, and friendship. She also plays fun family songs as well as some you may have heard before. You can hear some of Amy’s work here as well as on her Facebook page.

This week’s featured non-profit is Girl Scout Troop 65419, which is trying to start a clothing exchange for Melrose residents. They will be at the market to spread the word. People can exchange at the market, if they wish, however, there is no space to try things on.

Holly Pierce will be cooking to the season at the market. Check out Miss Holly’s recipes from last week’s market for Zucchini Fritters and Tzatziki. See Holly in action at the market, shopping for the ingredients at the winter farmers market.

We will have Yoga in the Park from 5 to 6 p.m. Bring your yoga mat with you! Join Barre & Soul Yoga Studio of Melrose for an hour of Free Outdoor Yoga every Thursday. All levels are welcome. Children are welcome to join if accompanied by adult. Stretch away the stress, and leave feeling centered and rejuvenated. We are proud to present the recent graduates of our Yoga Teacher Training program! Please note, Outdoor Yoga will be canceled if the forecast is rain. Please bring a mat or large towel to practice on.

You can use your Shop Melrose gift checks at the farmers market! You can buy the gift checks at the Melrose Cooperative Bank and Hourglass Gifts.
