Here’s a Preview of the Friends of the Library’s Victorian Fair Activities

The Friends of the Melrose Public Library have planned a full day of literary-themed activities to coincide with the Victorian Fair, on Sunday, September 13.

The highlight of the day will be our annual, giant fall book sale, held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the library lawn, located at 69 West Emerson Street. Many gently used books will be for sale, as well as some items promoting the library—coffee mugs, umbrellas, tote bags, Frisbees, and T-shirts. Book lovers as well as casual readers of all ages are sure to find new treasures for their fall reading pleasure.

As an added attraction, Melrose resident and young adult author Jen Malone will be signing her books, including her latest title You’re Invited, at the book sale from 11 a.m. to noon, and at the Friends’ Victorian Fair booth on Main Street from 1 to 3 p.m. All of her books will be sold during her book signings, and she will happily sign copies of her books that people already own.

The last activity of the day will be the raffle for three baskets of books: one for children, one for tweens/young adults, and one for adults. Anyone who joins the Friends or renews their membership will
automatically be entered into the raffle of their choice. Additional raffle tickets will be available to purchase at a cost of $2.00 each, or $5.00 for three tickets.
