Friends of the Fells Story Walk and Coloring Contest

Here’s a press release from Friends of the Fells about a fun event they are sponsoring.

It’s Fall! by Linda Glaser is the next book for our collaborative StoryWalk™ from Saturday, October 10 through Sunday, October 25. The book brings out all the colors and beauty of the fall season. Skip and swoosh through the leaves, as red, orange, yellow, gold and brown leaves fall down around us. A marvelous way to experience the colors and textures of fall, explore the wonders of autumn, including the animal life, the plant life, and the weather of the season! The Friends of the Fells is delighted to announce our collaboration with the DCR, Medford Family Network, North Suburban Child and Family Resource Network, and Mass in Motion to offer another StoryWalk™ in the Middlesex Fells Reservation! The walk will begin at Greenwood Park, in Stoneham (across from the Stone Zoo), and will continue along the Crystal Springs Trail in an easy, 1/3-mile loop.

Coloring Contest: Stop by the Botume Visitor’s Center, 4 Woodland Road, Stoneham, to pick up the coloring page, or download it here. Please mail to: Friends of the Middlesex Fells Reservation, 235 West Foster Street, Beebe Estate, Melrose, MA 02176 by October 26th. Prizes will be awarded. Please include child’s name, address, telephone number and/or email address.

Foster your child’s connection with nature as well as their literacy skills by participating in our StoryWalk™ in the Fells!

The StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
