Temple Beth Shalom Fall Programs

Here is a press release we received from Temple Beth Shalom.

What is Shabbat? Families with Young Children Program (0-8 yrs.)
Sun., Nov. 8, 4 – 5:30 p.m. we will create ritual Shabbat objects (candles, Challah and Kiddush Cup) to observe Shabbat in the home.

Young Adult Program
Our next JNorth program is Wed., Nov. 18, from 6 – 8 p.m. We will make candles at the Candle Company, 465 Main St., Melrose. Please RSVP to Allison at rabbiallison@gmail.com by Mon. Nov. 15. This is an opportunity for people ages 22-40 years old to meet other adults in the region to learn how to make candles. Cost: $10 (which will include materials, wine and cheese).

Adult Education Session
Wednesday, December 2, from 7:30 – 8:30pm we will learn about Chanukah traditions: What is the real story of Chanukah, Why do we say two prayers instead of one, and why does Chanukah fall at different times in November/December/January? Does the timing have to do with Christmas? We will need at least 3 people to RSVP to Rabbi Allison (rabbiallison@gmail.com) to make sure the class happens. Cost: $10/ member, $15/non-member.

Temple Beth Shalom is a Reform Jewish Synagog serving about 85 families from communities including Malden, Melrose, Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, and Wakefield.
