Flemming Lund is not only going to explain how infrared diagnostic technology can detect difficult-to-find energy losses in a home or building—he’ll be giving a live demonstration at the Milano Center. This unique workshop, next in the series hosted by the Melrose Energy Commission, takes place on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7:15 p.m. at the Milano Center, 201 W. Foster St.
“The most common complaints I receive are about ice dams or that the house is freezing,” says Lund, who is certified for infrared analysis and is a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater. “We use the most modern technology available to diagnose hard-to-find problems.”
Common issues include leaking ducts, which cause energy losses up to 25 percent, as well as leaking windows, uneven insulation patterns and areas that have no insulation. Improper insulation and air sealing can also result in ice dams and mold.
A question-and-answer session will follow the demonstration.
