Here is a press release we received from the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church.
Giving thanks makes us whole. At least that is what recent research on gratitude suggests. This is something people of faith have known and practiced for thousands of years. Each Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Melrose houses of worship join together to offer a Thanksgiving service. Weaving together the strands of our traditions, we offer thanks for the blessings in our lives. We act upon our gratitude with an offering collected to support those who are without food. The offering is split between the Melrose food pantries: A Servant’s Heart and Pantry of Hope.
We hope you will join us as we lift our voices up in songs of thanksgiving and speak words of gratitude. The service is on Tuesday, November 24th 7 P.M. at the Highlands Church, UCC, 355 Franklin Street. Parking is available across the street as well as on side streets. The handicapped entrance is at the rear of the church on West Highland Avenue.
