At the breakfast with four generations of Chamber directors: Lauren Grymek, Joan Ford Mongeau, Beth McNelis, and Jean Gorman

On Tuesday I was honored to be the speaker at Joan Ford Mongeau’s last meeting as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. Joan has worked very hard in her eight years as director, not only continuing the successful traditions of the Victorian Fair and Home for the Holidays but also expanding and improving them and starting new initiatives like the Summer Stroll. I wish her well as she moves on, and I also want to extend a warm welcome to the new Executive Director, Lauren Grymek. Lauren comes to the Chamber with 11 years’ experience at the Seaport Transportation Management Association, almost 10 of them as executive director. She also has an MBA from Simmons College, where she was chosen as graduation speaker by her classmates. I am looking forward to working with her, as I have with the other Chamber directors, to continue to strengthen our local business community and its bonds with Melrose residents.
