Today, the world of craft brewing is more dynamic and exciting than ever, with new breweries popping up all over the country—and we want to help you survey the rich variety of locally produced beers, ales, cider and more.
Join us for BEER + BITES, a unique craft brew tasting event, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at historic Memorial Hall in Melrose, Mass. Enjoy samples of local craft beverages and complimentary appetizer “bites” from nearby food establishments. (Additional food will also be available for purchase.) Take part in a multi-ticket drawing for a chance to win beer-related prizes, tickets to pro sports events, and more. Get advice from home brewing experts from Beer & Wine Hobby of Woburn, Mass., one of the largest home craft brew and wine and artisan cheese making companies in the United States.
Tickets are $35 online via Eventbrite (plus service and payment processing fees) and $40 at the door (if available). Visit www.melrosebeerandbites.com for more information and access to tickets. All tickets include a $1.00 donation to the Memorial Hall Restoration Fund.
Participating brewers will include Harpoon, Clown Shoes, Jack’s Abby, Newburyport Brewing Co., Artisan Beverage Cooperative, Artifact Cider, Down the Road Brewery, Merrimack Ales, Bent Water Brewing Company and more. Food will be provided by La Qchara (Melrose), The Porch Southern Fare (Wakefield) and Buckalew’s (Melrose). Space is still available for local brewers and food establishments, but is filling up quickly. Vendors interested in participating should contact event organizers at email@example.com.
The event benefits Melrose Highlands Congregational Church and the programs and outreach it supports, including mission trips, feeding ministries for A Servant’s Heart Food Pantry and Bread of Life, youth service opportunities such as Common Cathedral and City Reach, and support for area families through initiatives such as the organization’s Giving Tree, Birthday® Wishes program for homeless children, MLK Jr. Day of Service, and City Mission Society’s Christmas Shop.
Memorial Hall is located at 590 Main Street in Melrose.
This is a 21+ event—all attendees will be required to show a valid photo ID to gain admittance.
