As part of Women’s History Month, we invite you to join the Melrose Human Rights Commission and the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) in welcoming Dr. Donna Decker for an Author Talk this Sunday, April 3rd. We will be discussing the writing of Dr. Decker’s book “Dancing In Red Shoes Will Kill You,” about the 1989 “Montréal Massacre” in which a gunman murdered 14 female engineering students and injured another 14 students before taking his own life in an anti-feminist attack at the École Polytechnique de Montréal. The international White Ribbon Campaign was launched in 1991 in response to this event, to raise awareness of violence against women and work on gender violence prevention.
The discussion will be held Sunday April 3, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Windsor at Oak Grove Clubhouse, 12 Island Hill Avenue in Melrose. Light refreshments will be provided and Dr. Decker will have copies of her book for sale. We hope you can join us!
