The Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) has notified the City that they will be paving portions of the Lynn Fells Parkway in Melrose during the week of August 22nd during both daytime and nighttime hours. The work includes roadway grinding and re-paving. Roadway grinding is scheduled to begin the night of August 22, 2016.
The project includes upgrades to the Lynn Fells Parkway from Vinton street to Melrose Street. Work previously scheduled for Green Street to the Saugus line has been rescheduled and is presently anticipated to occur in the fall.
During this work, please refrain from on street parking on the parkway, as well as parking within intersections and on immediately adjacent side streets. Traffic impacts should be expected throughout the day and night on the Lynn Fells Parkway and abutting neighborhood streets until Wednesday, August 24.
The DCR will be making every possible effort to keep disruptions to a minimum and ensure that the work is completed in a timely fashion. Message boards have been installed on the parkway and will display any relevant follow up information as the project progresses.
Anyone who has questions or requires a special/unique need during this period of construction can call the DCR or feel free to call the DPW Engineering Office of City Hall at 781-979-4172.
