Big Turnout for Early Voting in Melrose

This year, for the first time, Massachusetts allowed early voting, and I’m happy to say that we had a great turnout. According to Eric Wildman, a member of the Board of Registrars of Voters, a total of 5,116 votes were cast. In addition, our Elections Office has received 811 absentee ballots, which gives us a turnout of almost 29%—before Election Day!

I want to congratulate our Clerk of Elections, Lindalee Angiolillo, the Board of Registrars of Voters, and the City Clerk’s office for their work on implementing early voting. This was a big organizational challenge, but it went very smoothly and overall the feedback was positive.

And if you didn’t vote early, don’t forget to vote tomorrow!
