It was Pinot and putting for the adults on Saturday night and fun for the whole family on Sunday when the Melrose Public Library turned its bookshelves into bunkers for a mini-golf fund-raiser last weekend. Approximately 125 Melrosians over 21 enjoyed an evening of mini golf, music, literary trivia, hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine at the Saturday night affair, while several dozen families enjoyed hitting the links on Sunday morning. The first event of its type, the Mini Golf at the MPL “FUNdraiser” brought in nearly $7,000 for programs, services, and other offerings that help make our library so special.

“Mini Golf at the MPL was a really fun and unique way to raise money, and to bring the community together in the middle of the winter,” said Christina Gagliano, Chairperson of Friends of the Melrose Public Library. “We are so grateful to the sponsors who invested in this first-time event, to the many wonderful volunteers who helped plan and work the event, and to everyone who attended. The feedback has been so positive that we’re already planning for next year.”
