Green Street Baptist Church to Hold Memorial Day Sunday Service

VFW Post 2394 and Post 1506 will join with the Green Street Baptist Church to hold a Memorial Day Sunday Service on May 28th at 11:00 am. This year in observance of the Vietnam War we are inviting those who served in Vietnam and their families to join us.

“On behalf of a Grateful Nation….” how many times have we heard this solemn phrase and to every veteran and their families it has a special and personal meaning. To those who have lost a love one it reminds them of an empty space at family gathering. To those who have a family member on active duty it is the day to day worry for those in harm’s way, and for those in harm’s way it is the worry that all at home is well and that their families will be cared for. As Memorial Day approaches it is fitting that we also remind ourselves that we as veterans have a special obligation as part of the grateful nation to observe and participate in the observance of that day, to remind and educate our neighbors and children that we are truly grateful to those who made the supreme sacrifice that so many have so willingly made for All.

Green Street Baptist Church is located at 179 Green Street, Melrose.
