For the seventh year in a row, Chris Cinella of Edward Jones Investments, 502 Main Street, is collecting school supplies to give to the needy children of Melrose. All the school supplies donated will be given to families who are served by the Red Cross and the Melrose Emergency Fund. Donations should be brought to the Edward Jones office anytime between now and August 22.
All types of school supplies are welcome, particularly pencils, pens, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, binders, folders, backpacks, lunchboxes, child-safe scissors, glue sticks, staplers, calculators, calculators, dry erase boards, erasers, construction paper.
“The first day of school is always a special day,” said Mayor Robert J. Dolan, “and we want to make sure that every Melrose child starts off the school year with everything they need, from pens and pencils to backpacks and calculators.”
“Education is more important now than ever before,” said Cinella, “and I want to thank all those who give so generously so that we can provide the children of Melrose with everything they need to get off to a great start.”
The Edward Jones office is located at 502 Main Street and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
