Lots of Activities in Melrose This Weekend!

We’ve got a lot of great things going on in Melrose this weekend. Here are a few you might want to check out:

Tonight, come see the undefeated Melrose Red Raiders play the Winchester Sachems at Fred Green Field at 7 p.m.

Brad Hutchinson Real Estate will hold their annual pumpkin giveaway on Saturday, October 14. Stop by the office at 193 Green Street with a child under 12, and pick out a free pumpkin. The giveaway runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or while supplies last.

Then come to the Horace Mann Pumpkin Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enjoy games, pumpkin decorating, a haunted house, all the delights of the season! This is a fund-raiser for the Horace Mann School and everyone is welcome!

Enjoy the Melrose Arts and Crafts Society’s annual exhibit on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church. The exhibit will feature a raffle table, craft demonstrations, and handmade items for sale. Complimentary tea and pastry will be served.

On Saturday evening, cheer on the Melrose High School band in the Northeast Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) Competition from 5-9:30 p.m. at Fred Green Field. Melrose is tentatively slated to perform at 7:20pm. Admission $10 Adults, $8 Student/Senior. All are welcome!

The Melrose Fire Department is holding an Open House at Fire Headquarters on Main Street on Sunday, October 15, from 12-2 p.m., as part of Fire Prevention Week. Activities will include a firehouse tour and possibly an outdoor burn demonstration, if the weather cooperates, as well as pizza and soft drinks.

And looking far into the future…

Downtown Trick or Treat will be October 31 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
