RIP Mr. Murphy, Mr. Ball, and Mr. Babineau

Three educators and Melrose residents who were influential to me as a young man and provided me with valuable advice as I was growing up and after I became mayor passed away over the last month. Those individuals are Jim Babineau, a former math teacher and president of the Melrose Teachers Association; Frank Ball, educator, coach, and neighbor; and Harry Murphy, educator, coach, and neighbor. These outstanding men had a positive impact on the lives of thousands. I wish I could do a blog post on every one of our teachers, and I ask each of you who reads this blog to think about an educator who influenced your life.

Thank you Mr. Babineau, Mr. Ball, and Mr. Murphy, and rest in peace.
